Recruiting young people to come to Pennsylvania and helping more young people stay in Pennsylvania to pursue high-demand careers is a focus of PA Senate Republicans as we work to implement changes to post-secondary #educational opportunities.
Job training programs must also be embraced as we look at more ways to foster growth here is our Commonwealth.

Together, we can strengthen our workforce and make #pennsylvania much more competitive in attracting the best and brightest students to put down roots in our #communities.

It was a pleasure to meet with a group of Homer-Center School District students this week. The students travelled to Harrisburg to take part in the American Lung Associationโ€™s 18th annual โ€˜Day at the Capitolโ€™ to advocate for clean indoor air legislation and tobacco control.

Advocacy is important, and I appreciate the students sharing their perspectives with me. The group made some very good points during our conversation, and I encourage them to continue to engage with issues they are passionate about throughout our community. Thank you for the great dialogue and visit to my office!

Historic tax cut legislation was passed by the #PASenate today.

Senate Bill 269 reduces the Personal Income Tax (PIT) from 3.07% to 2.80% & eliminates the Gross Receipts Tax on energy.

Iโ€™m very pleased that this bill advanced by a strong bipartisan, veto-proof margin.

Congratulations to Lenape Tech students Olyvia Burns, Leia Lewis-Ziembicki and Kiley Held and their teacher/mentors, Mr. Jason Zimmerman & Ms. Marla Betts for being selected as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 Innovations Challenge Regional winner! Meet Joe Pittman

I have called Indiana County home all my life and live there with my wife, Gina (DiMaio), and our four children: Joe Jr., Sam, Rosie and Frannie. I am thankful to my parents, John and Mary Ann (Yevchak), for instilling in me the values of God, family and country, and teaching me the importance of community service. It is an honor to serve the 41st Senatorial District and Iโ€™m proud to work with my colleagues to strengthen our commonwealth by protecting jobs, empowering families and defending our freedoms.
